Online Marketing – the Start of My Journey

Online Marketing – the Start of My Journey

Hi there and welcome!

My name is Ash and, as you can see, this is the very first post on my brand new blog! Although I haven’t done anything like this before, I’ve been getting the very best training from Dean Holland and his team to help me get started, not only with online marketing in general, but they also have some amazing training about blogging. So, I’m going to try my best to follow it to the letter!

What Is My Aim with This Blog?

Well, I am at the beginning of my journey to build a sustainable online income. I will be putting various things in place as I go along, but I intend for my blog to be a key part of everything I do. One way I will use it is to share what I’m doing and what I’m learning. That way, I hope that even at these beginning stages, I’ll be able to provide some help for other who, like me, are just getting started with online marketing or who are even considering it.

So, what have I done up until this point?

Well, I have installed WordPress for one thing! I have managed to set it up according to the training I have gone through and have done some very basic customisation in order to make it look a little prettier. At this stage, just getting going is an achievement. They say that every journey starts with a first step, so if you’re yet to take that step, I say do it!!

If you look over to the right of the page, you’ll see that I have put a banner in the sidebar. I do recommend that you do click on that banner and get Dean’s book, as I truly believe that you need to read it if you have ever struggled with affiliate marketing, or if you’re looking to do online marketing of any kind going forwards.

I am living proof of the quality of Dean’s teaching – if it hadn’t have been for going through and applying the teaching of Dean and his team, I wouldn’t be here now, having set up this blog! So, that serves to show just a small part of what can be achieved by putting into practice what is contained in the stuff Dean teaches.

Online marketing is a big, wide world, and there is a lot of rubbish out there, frankly. But Dean’s Iceberg Effect book stands out like a beacon. Oh, did I mention that the book is actually free? There’s just a nominal shipping fee, but the book itself is free.

What next for me?

Well, this is a whole new world to me and I have been assured that there are some amazing bloggers out there from whom I can learn a lot. So, I’m going to spend the next few days searching for some cool bloggers, connecting with them and seeing what I can learn in the process.

I’m really excited about getting started, not only in building my business, but also in building my blog as part of that.

I would really love it if you would follow me in my online marketing journey. If you’re already well on your way yourself, you’re getting started like I am, or even if you haven’t yet got started, I would love to hear from you!

Please leave a comment below and let me know what you’re working on right now.

Thanks so much for reading! πŸ™‚

  1. Welcome to the blogging community. I hope you have fun and that you’re successful at it. You’ve got the first part down, that being to visit other blogs and comment well, as it helps get your name out there. I hope you’re still going strong 15 years from now; that’s how long I’ve been blogging (actually 15 1/2 lol). Enjoy yourself; best of luck!

  2. Hey Ash, congratulations on starting your blog! My blog is relatively new as well, and I see you’ve met one of my blogger friends, Mitch Mitchell as well. I would also agree that networking is very important for bloggers who are new to the scene. It is harder to rank on Google at the start, so it definitely helps to drive traffic through social media. All the best!

    1. Hi Ming,

Thanks so much for dropping by, great to see you here! πŸ™‚

Yeah, I’m totally with you about Google. But the way I see it is I’m connecting with people – not search engines. Search engines can be a massive help for sure, but what if they didn’t exist? Connecting with people, however, is evergreen. So I certainly see huge value in getting out there and networking.

      Thanks again for visiting!
